Attracting a record-breaking crowd and exceeding entrant numbers significantly, RockyNats 03 exceeded all expectations.
According to Andy Lopez, co-promotor of Rockynats, "This year's event was bigger and more successful than previous years. It's clear that Rockynats has become an annual pilgrimage for car lovers from all corners of Australia."
Rockynats 03 was more than just a car festival, it was a celebration of car culture that united car enthusiasts from all walks of life. The event's atmosphere was electric, filled with camaraderie, laughter, and a shared appreciation for all things automotive.
“There is no doubt that in just three short years, RockyNats has established itself as a must-attend event for car enthusiasts. The festival featured a wide range of activities, attracting people of all ages and interests from around the country,” Andy remarked.
One of the event's many highlights was the Show 'N' Shine. It showcased an impressive array of classic, vintage, and custom vehicles vying for the attention of judges and spectators alike.
Andy Lopez shared his enthusiasm, stating, "The Show 'N' Shine competition was a testament to the passion and dedication of our participants. It was amazing to see such a diverse collection of beautifully restored and customised vehicles."
Unique to RockyNats, the Street Drags drag didn’t disappoint, as it delivered a heart-pumping, adrenaline-fueled spectacle that kept punters lined five deep across the long weekend.
"The drag racing event was simply exhilarating. The energy and excitement in the air were palpable as drivers raced head-to-head on the streets of Rockhampton,” said Andy.
Or course, the burnout competition was a crowd favourite, featuring the smell of burning rubber and the deafening roar of engines. Participants unleashed their vehicles' raw power, leaving spectators in awe of the tyre-shredding spectacle.
"The burnout competition was an absolute ripper," said Lopez. "And what place to have a burnout pad, right on the banks of the Fitzroy River, there’s nothing like it anywhere else in the county."
Rockynats 03 was an unforgettable experience, leaving punters and entrants eagerly anticipating the next instalment.
Andy Lopez expressed his gratitude and optimism for the future, "We are incredibly thankful for the support and enthusiasm of our attendees, participants, and sponsors. We're already looking forward to Rockynats 04, and we can assure you it will be bigger and better again."
