What we do

Commercial partnerships, built the way media is bought.

Media Scrum works with brands that need outcomes and rights holders that need revenue. Five capabilities, applied in whatever combination the commercial objective requires.

01

Commercial Partnerships

Partnerships built on commercial objectives, not logo placement.

We build partnerships between brands and properties that are designed around a commercial objective from the outset — customer acquisition, product launch, trade influence, brand consideration or direct sales. We identify the right property for the objective, negotiate the terms, and structure the rights so the investment can be measured.

  • Partnership strategy and property selection
  • Rights structuring and negotiation
  • Investment cases built for marketing and finance approval
  • Multi-property and multi-year partnership programs
02

Sponsorship Strategy

A defensible view of what a sponsorship is worth before you buy it.

Media Scrum applies the discipline of media buying to sponsorship. Every asset in a partnership is identified, valued and mapped to an outcome, so brands understand exactly what they are receiving for their investment and rights holders understand exactly what they are selling.

  • Sponsorship asset registers and valuation
  • Audience and reach analysis
  • Measurement frameworks and post-campaign reporting
  • Renewal strategy and partnership growth planning
03

Rights Holder Commercialisation

Turning rights and audiences into durable, renewable revenue.

For event owners, series promoters, publishers and content owners, we build the commercial architecture of the property — what is commercially saleable, what it is worth, who should buy it and why — then take it to market and sell it.

  • Commercial audit of existing rights and entitlements
  • Asset register development and pricing
  • Naming rights, category and supplier partnership programs
  • Outsourced sponsorship and trade sales capability
04

Event & Experience

Presence at events that converts attention into customers.

Live audiences are the most valuable and the most easily wasted. We plan and commercialise the on-site experience — footprint, activation concept, staffing model, data capture and sales conversion — so a brand's presence at an event does commercial work, not just decorative work.

  • Activation strategy and footprint planning
  • Trade and exhibition programs
  • Data capture and lead conversion design
  • On-site sales and retail execution planning
05

Content & Media

Extending a partnership well beyond the event weekend.

Publications, broadcast, streaming, podcasts, YouTube programming and brand ambassadors extend a partnership across the year. We integrate owned, earned and paid media into partnerships so the story keeps working long after the gates close.

  • Integrated media and content programs
  • Broadcast and streaming integration
  • Publishing and editorial partnerships
  • Brand ambassador identification and management
Our method

The Commercial Case

Sponsorship is one of the largest lines in a marketing budget and one of the least rigorously valued. We treat every partnership as an investment case that has to survive scrutiny from people who do not care about the activation.

  1. I

    Diagnose

We start with the commercial objective and the audience it depends on — not with what is available to sell. Often the honest answer is a property we do not represent, and we say so.

  2. II

    Value

Each asset inside the partnership is identified, benchmarked and priced. Both sides then know what is changing hands and why the number is the number.

  3. III

    Structure

Rights, terms, category exclusivity and term length are negotiated to give the partnership somewhere to grow, rather than locking value in year one.

  4. IV

    Prove

Activation is planned with the rights, and performance is reported against the objective set at the start — which turns renewal into a commercial decision rather than a fresh pitch.

The method in practice — six steps from objective to renewal.

  1. 01

    Objective

We start with the commercial objective, not with what is available to sell. What has to change — awareness, consideration, trade influence, sales, retention?

  2. 02

    Audience

We establish who the objective depends on reaching, how engaged they are, and which properties genuinely hold their attention.

  3. 03

    Valuation

Every asset in the partnership is identified and valued, the way a media schedule is valued, so the investment case can be defended internally.

  4. 04

    Negotiation

We structure and negotiate the rights, terms and exclusivities, and bring both sides to an agreement that has room to grow.

  5. 05

    Activation

A signed partnership is the beginning. We work on what happens on the ground, in broadcast, in content and in trade so the rights are used.

  6. 06

    Measurement

We report what the partnership returned against the original objective, and use that to build the renewal rather than restart the sale.

Working with us

Three ways Media Scrum is engaged.

01

Brand-side advisory

For brands and their agencies

Retained or project-based. We sit on your side of the table — valuing opportunities you are already considering, testing what has been proposed to you, and negotiating the agreement. Where we also represent a property, that interest is declared before any recommendation is made.

02

Rights-holder commercialisation

For events, clubs, series and publishers

A mandate to build the commercial architecture of the property — what is saleable, what it is worth, who should buy it — and then to take it to market. Structured around delivery, not retainer alone.

03

Exclusive representation

For properties without an internal commercial team

Media Scrum operates as the outsourced commercial department: partnership sales, trade sales, partner servicing and renewal, reporting to the property as its own team would.

Sectors

Eight connected markets.

  • Sport

Professional clubs and national championships with season-long audiences and committed, repeat attendance.

  • Entertainment

Live entertainment, festival programming and broadcast formats built around spectacle and scale.

  • Media

Established mastheads and broadcast platforms with specialist authority and national distribution.

  • Events

Major national festivals and city-scale events that assemble hundreds of thousands of people annually.

  • Motorsport

Circuit, drag and grassroots motorsport across free-to-air, streaming and live audiences.

  • Content

Long-form programming, podcasts and creator platforms with opt-in, returning audiences.

  • Automotive

Australia's automotive aftermarket, trade and enthusiast economy — buyers, builders and businesses.

  • Lifestyle

Culture-led audiences where brand affinity is earned through participation rather than interruption.

Next step

Have an audience worth reaching, or a partnership worth building?

Whether you are a brand looking for the right property, or a rights holder looking to commercialise what you already own, the conversation starts the same way — with the commercial objective.
